Deadline for final decision pushed back to December 2015

Residents have received the following letter from Cllr Matthew Bennett, Cabinet Member for Housing – dated 16th July 2015.

The letter informs residents that Lambeth Council will now make a final decision on their preferred option for the estate in December 2015. The date was originally meant to be June, then it was pushed back to September.

Residents have been shown no possible ‘options’ at this stage. Lambeth Council have advised that while this extended deadline is in part to allow for further resident ‘engagement’, we will not in fact have a say on which option is chosen. On that basis further consultation does seem rather meaningless, but we wonder if the pending Judicial Review in relation to Cressingham Gardens (see here) may be making Lambeth more cautious with all the other estates in the regeneration programme…
