Central Hill Estate has been asked to take part in the national open gardens scheme. This event is being put together by Architects for Social Housing. The weekend in question is the 13th and 14th of June and we are co-planning with Knights Walk estate (who are also under threat of forced regeneration) to open up a few gardens to the public as well as residents on the estate. Gardens could be your own little oasis or one of the open spaces on the estate.
The event is designed to raise awareness of the beautiful green spaces on the estate and to get the community together.
We are planning a seed sowing session too and local groups have also been invited to run activities and stalls.
Jonathan, one of the Central Hill residents, is organising this with Architects for Social Housing – and he really needs some help with things as it’s not very far away! If anyone out there would be up for helping/opening their garden/organising a parallel event on the day like a BBQ or making cakes please get in touch – either comment on this post or contact him via facebook or email firstname.lastname@example.org and your email will be passed on to him.
If you’ve in any way got green fingers or fancy helping out then get in touch. Either way please come along on the day and show your support. Hope to see you there!
